Green DIY Energy claims they will show you “The Secrets of Building Your Own Solar Energy… for less than $200.”
The question I asked was is this possible?
As I can attest Green DIY Energy is pretty much on the level.
I bought the product, which includes the videos and the guides in easy downloadable form. I read and watched all the videos and devoured all their information.
Like everyone else I am looking for ways to save money on my electric bill.

Green DIY Energy gives some pretty interesting information on how you can build your own photovoltaic solar panels, build your own wind turbine and, I got a bonus download on how to build my own solar water heater.
The plans and instructions they give are straight forward enough to follow through on and build a solar energy system on your roof top or in a ground mounted configuration.
I had never considered a ground mounted system before but it sure makes sense if you have the land for it.
The site is complete with a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Introduction guide, A Step-by-Step Solar Guide and, the Green DIY Energy Video Library
With the following videos:
- Intro / Tools / Materials
- Frame Construction
- Soldering Solar Cells
- Assembling / Attaching / Connecting
- Final Panel Assembly
- Testing
There are additional guides which are very good at helping you complete your project.
- Electrical Wiring Plans for Solar Panels
- Installing and Mounting Solar Panels Guide
- Energy Consumer Guide
- PV Solar Panel Array Sizing Worksheet
- Solar & Wind Tax Credits & Rebates
There is also a complete set of guides for making your own wind turbine and an additional guide on how to make a solar water heater.
Overall I was very pleased with the thoroughness of the Green DIY Energy product and it does show you how to Build Your Own Solar Energy… for less than $200.
The site also gave a list of sources for the materials you will need to purchase to complete your solar energy system which is very helpful.
It does show you that it’s possible to make your own solar panels and install a system yourself to save energy, money and, still go green. One of the things that make this guide so good is that anyone can do this. You need to read and follow the safety precautions but you don’t need to be a super handyman to build a solar panel.
This gave me a sense of security as it showed me how I can control how I will get my energy and what I will pay for it.
This in itself made me very excited about the Green DIY Energy.
